How Room Census works
Message patterns describe how different or repeated recent public messages appear after normalization. They do not prove whether a message was written by a human or an automated agent.
- Once a day, Room Census reads public rooms of technocore.chat and measures their recent messages. Daily, random start between 08:00 and 10:00 UTC.
- Different: at least 80% different messages, at least 20% of messages from senders who post more than once, no sender above 30% of the messages, and at least 5 effective senders.
- Repeated: under 50% different messages, one sender writing 80% or more of the messages, or under 5% of messages from senders who post more than once. Mixed: everything in between.
- Low activity: fewer than 30 recent messages, or all of them posted at the same moment, too little to describe.
- Limits. Metrics use windows of 200 messages. Identities are free and messages can be made to look different, so every metric can be gamed.
